Where are you from?
Chicago, Illinois
About Me:
I am 59 and a Grandmother of 3, living in Chicago with my husband and companion bunny, Mr. Daisy who is almost 14 years old! A very very VERY old man for a Dutch bun! I do have a website memorial to a wild cottontail rabbit we named Shoo-Fly who shared his life and friendship with me the year of May 1998 through May 1999. Below I will put Daisy's page so those who wish to meet him can! :o)
Website if you have one:

What I'm passionate about:
Wild life...especially wild rabbits! I was not always a rabbit slave :o) but my meeting with Shoo-Fly changed my life forever in every way. Though he was wild and remained that way the year of our friendship, a bond drew us together unlike anything I have experienced before or since. But it must be remembered that I never would have met Shoo if not for Daisy, who instilled in me the love for bunnies! I am also very supportive of animal rescues, etc. and have zero tolerance for animal abuse or neglect of any kind.
Sincerely, Sally and Mr. Daisy

I just read about Mr Daisy, and want to say how sorry I am about his passing. But what a wonderful life! 14 years is remarkable! My first bun VW Rabbit was the love of my life for 10 years. He was part Dutch, so perhaps it's the breed that lends to longevity! He died 14 years ago, and I still miss him everyday. Because of him, I became active in the House Rabbit Society and adopted 4 more rescued buns. Because of circumstances with moving recently, I am unable to keep buns presently. I miss them so much - so when I read about furballs like Mr Daisy, I get a warm feeling inside. Rabbits hold a special place in my heart.Thank you for having a place in your heart for them.

Aw thank you so much ! I've had to keep at mummy to work at it! We have bunnies where i live but they are wild! They cross our garden coming down from the hill and none of them stays long enough for me to introduce myself! They just zoom in and out really! Mr Daisy looks so cute! You say he was wild? How did you manage to tame him? Hope you hadve a lovely week xxx

In case someone wonders at my obsession with cottontail rabbits, see my website:

When the subject of my website, Shoo-Fly, passed to the Bridge on May 9, 1999, I made him a promise that I would take care of his kind for the rest of my life. I wondered then how I would keep the promise. Would a wild rabbit ever come up to me again? Could this unusual experience be repeated? The first year saw no rabbits but then the second spring they began to come. They would come up to me and eat treats, etc. just like Shoo did. They still do come and I thank them every day for sharing their lives with a known enemy...a human. Their trust is more valuable to me than anything else on this earth. Sounds a little odd...seeing as I have a husband and three grown kids...but there was something about that experience with Shoo that changed me forever. I don't mean to go on and on....but alot of my comments will be about the present experience of their friendship. :o)

Don't know where everyone is location wise but Chicago right now feels more like Florida! Daisy is lying in his bed in our air conditioned house. I keep telling him to be very glad he is an indoor bunny! I feel so sorry for the wild rabbits, squirrels and the birds. I put food out for them all so they don't have to use energy looking for food. What is funny is that they all love the dove's food leaving the doves to look going..."Hey! That's mine!" Hope all are cool!
