If you know anything about akitas, you know that we make a woowoo sound when we are happy, when we want someone's attention, basically whenever we feel like it. This morning I felt the other two furkids in this house were getting all the attention, so I woowooed at Mom. You would have thought I had spoken english, but I got my share of attention from it :o)

Well, I've been here one whole week, and my new family keeps telling me that I am in my forever home, whatever that means. They have given me a bath, and I'm starting to lose some of my winter coat, finally. My people think that I haven't had a bath in a very long time. Then this afternoon, we were all outside, and I picked up a toy like everyone else, and my dad got sooo excited. You would think a dog had never picked up a toy before. They get excited over the littlest things, I swear.

Today we got back into the car and took a trip to the doctor. He checked me all over and said I was pretty healthy. I'm a little underweight (I coulda told him that), but he couldn't detect any tender spots on my head. The doc and my new family are going to try to get my old vet records, because they do not want to give me any more shots or medicine that what I really need. The only thing the vet found wrong was a little sore on one foot, so he gave my driver (hehehe) some medicine for it. I thi… Continue

My goodness I was tired and stiff and to be quite honest I'm quite stressed. I was in that car for about 20 hours. We drove all the way from TX to OH. These people gave me my own blanket for the trip. It had lots of smells on it... 2 dogs - a male and a female, and 2 people a male and a female - the guy was one of the two who drove me here his name is Doug. The young lady who helped drive was named Amanda.

OHHH MYYY GOOOOOOOSSSHHHH will this car ride ever end? Oh wait we are pulling off. Yes, we're stopping. YES... we're getting out of this car! HHMMmmm, it's cool here. Toto, I don't think we are in Texas any more. **sniff sniff** there are other dogs here, at least 2 maybe 3... The guy that drove me here said this is my new home, and that they are going to do everything they can to make me comfortable and happy. I hope he's right.
