Rabies shots....

I've heard mixed reviews on rabies shots lately and that there isn't really a need for them anymore. In fact, my vet won't vaccinate against rabies unless requested. Maybe it's just because I'm from a small town? Is any body elses' clinic like that?

I know I vaccinate every single animal I own against Rabies because where we live there are often rabid critters around. Even the horses get rabies every year. (One vet actually gave me their tags for their collars. I had to role my eyes at that one. Although I guess I could have attached them to halters maybe. . . lol) They do have the rabies shot that lasts 3 years but it's not legal to go without for 3 years yet I don't believe. Although with as many critters as we have it sure would be nice to skip a year of rabies!; ▶ Reply to This
