Advice Anyone?

Ok, I hate the stinking dog next door. My neighbor lets him run around outside unattended. It is a little dog, but it will get up in your face and bark and lunge at you. I honestly don't know if he would ever bite, but for a small dog, he is intimidating. I have spoken to my neighbor about this a couple of times over several years, but nothing ever changes. My mom and I do some home day care, and we like to take the kids outside. We live in a wonderful neighborhood and we're right on the bike path, so it's a great place for the kids to play.....if not for the dog anyway. I personally would call the pound at this point, but I have promised my dad that I wouldn't because he doesn't want to create waves. I hate this dog! I have been bitten by 7 different dogs before, and I'm not looking for #8. This dog will come up onto our lawn and stand at the bottom of our porch and bark at us sometimes. I don't know what to do. Anyone have any advice?

Have you tried to be friend the dog? It sounds as though he might be starved for attention. Put out food and maybe water as an attempt to earn the dogs trust. Maybe then he would be so aggresive
If youve tried to talk to the owner and he wont do anything then maybe you should call animal control. They would probly issue the owner a warning and maybe that will get his attention. Utimately you have to defend the safty of your children regardless of your relationship with the neihbor
Is it possible to secure a fence or something that would keep the dog away? If there is no fence, the owner cant be letting his dog run loose.That is "animal at large" and is a jailable offense; ▶ Reply to This
