Hyperthyroidism in a cat

Does anyone have a cat with hyperthyroidism??? I am interested in the side effects from the medication. I have a 15 year old cat that has it and is on tapazole.

And I will talk to the vet. I sure would rather use that stuff than give her these darn pills twice a day. She never had any symptoms, the vet just did a test on her cause of her age. She also has the beginnings of kidney failure. So we are dealing with lots of problems but I am not ready to give her up yet.
